Visit Craigellachie Bridge
The Craigellachie Bridge is the oldest cast iron bridge in Scotland. Designed by famous engineer, Thomas Telford and built between 1812 and 1814, this bridge was well ahead of its time. Created with a single arch span to overcome periods of extreme flooding, cast iron was used to create a lightweight frame. With a span of 45.7 metres, it proved to be a vital instrument in transporting goods across the river during the 19th and 20th centuries. Offering stunning views of the River Spey and its wildlife, this 200 year old bridge is well worth a visit.
