Speyburn Distillery Renovation

We’re celebrating the completion of a £5 million investment programme at our distillery, which will not only support demand for our single malt around the world but will make Speyburn one of the greenest producers in the industry.

Our team has taken two years to carefully renovate and expand our Distillery site, combining sustainability and the very latest energy efficient technology with traditional techniques, stonework and craftsmanship. 

Just like our founder, John Hopkins, our Distillery Manager, Bobby Anderson, and our team made the very best use of our natural resources in Rothes, by working with local tradesmen to sensitively renovate our existing distillery buildings. 

This expansion retained all 4 of our original Douglas Fir washbacks, in addition to 15 new stainless steel washbacks being installed.  A 3^rd still has also been added, giving us one large wash and 2 spirit stills.
